Review #233: Aultmore 12

Speyside - 12 - NCF - NCA - $50 at Binny's- 46%

Aultmore is a Speyside distillery owned be Dewers.  I have had two Aultmore IBs and I have enjoyed them both. It appears that their entry level OB is 46%, NCF and NCA, that is a good start.  This appears to be all ex-bourbon so I am expecting this to be classic Highland profile.

Color - Yellow Gold
Nose - Key limes, granny Smith, vanilla ice cream, loads of honey, marshmallow, grass clippings, as I nose, this moves more and more floral and sweet
Palate - Caramel, fresh stone fruit, vanilla
Finish - Medium -  Lemons, Honey, cigar box, vanilla, malt, lingering pears citrus and wood
Overall - 7 - This was a lovely classic highland dram.  Everything that you could ask for from an entry level dram.  I liked this more than the Deanston 12 I just had.  This had more grassy and floral note to it but not with being light.  I will have to try a few more expressions of this.  Would I buy a bottle of this?  Yes I would.
