Review #252: Maltman Secret Speyside 11 year Cask #10901 (Macallan)

Speyside - 11 - NCF - NCA - $100 - 55.8%

This IB is supposedly a Macallan bottling of a sherry cask.  I don't have much more on it so on to the tasting.

Color - Tawny
Nose - Almonds, dates, chocolate milk powder, oranges, vanilla extract, sticky toffee pudding
Palate - Cocoa powder, figs, pretzel bread, orange slices
Finish - Medium -  Chocolate, almonds, orange rind, toffee, a touch of raw oak
Overall - 6 - This is a nice nutty and chocolate sherry bomb. The nose is nice and fun, but the rest of it just kinds of falls into simple, but tasty.  The bit of bitter wood on the end stops this from being really enjoyable but I am happy enough drinking this.
