Bourbon/Rye Review #36: Redemption 10 Year Rye Barrel Proof Batch 2

MGP -  10 Year - Rye- 95R/5M - Sample - $90 - 58.1%

Redemption Rye is MGP rye, which I am a fan of.  I don't know if there is a better value in whisky than the half gallon of Bulleit Rye for $40.  This should be like that, but older and barrel proof.  I recently had the Bulleit 12 year rye and it seemed to turn more vanilla and lose its rye spice.  Lets see how this guy tastes.

Color - Dark Caramel
Nose - Dill, vanilla, rye spice, pickle juice, caramel
Taste - Rye spice, dill,  sweetness, apples
Mouthfeel - Big
Finish - Dill, rye spice, vanilla, syrup
Finish Length - Long
Overall - 4/7 - If you are looking for Bulleit rye, but bigger, this is right up your alley.  Its got dill, its got rye spice and its got a little more barrel influence with the wood.  This is very enjoyable but really not worth the premium of 4x Bulleit rye for me. I am glad I got to try it but I would pass on buying a bottle.

Rating system is price influenced as it is based on my shopping decisions when buying a bottle.
