Review #212: Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch #45

Speyside - NAS - NCF - NCA - $100 - 60.2%

Aberlour A.Bunadh is Aberlour's no age statement cask strength sherry bomb.  I have done reviews on 47 and 50 & 58.  I always enjoy a good sherry bomb so I don't think this will disappoint.

Color - Mahogany
Nose - Apricots, leather, oranges, vanilla -  just massive amounts of dried fruit - with water a lot more vanilla, raisins
Palate - Apricots, nutmeg, baking spices - Water doesn't change the palate
Finish - Long - Hot, baking spices, raisins - with water drying baking spice, ginger, pepper
Overall - 6 - This was a little too hot for the juice in there.  I know that it is 60% but it was still hot for that ABV.  However, the rest of it was the untamed sherry bomb that I was looking for.  The drop off of the fruit in the finish was a little disappointing but that is nit picking.  Overall, a solid batch that needs probably about 3 drops water per ounce to tame the heat.
