Review #202: Blackadder Raw Cask Blairfindy 16

Speyside - 16 - NCF - NCA - $120 - 54.1%

Blairfindy is a line of whisky that Glenfarclas makes.  It appears to be ex-bourbon so it should be a good way to check out Glenfarclas character as most of their stuff is sherried.

Color - Pale Gold
Nose - blast of nutmeg, lemon, vanilla, orange rind, fabric softener, key lime pie
Palate - Caramel, lemons, vanilla, a touch of raw wood but not in a distracting way
Finish - Medium - Lemon drops, apples, honey, spices
Overall - 5.5 - This was a perfectly pleasant dram.  There was a blast of Farclas spice on the nose.  After that, it was largely citrus.  There was a good amount of spice throughout the dram.  This had a heavier wood element that I would have expected on the palate.  Overall, a nice drinker but nothing to get to excited about.
