Review #294: Caol Ila Gordan & MacPhail 2005 11 year
Islay - 11 - NCA - NCF - $100 If I had to guess - 59.1%
Caol Ila is an Islay distillery owned by everybody's favorite corporate conglomerate Diageo. I can't find any information on this bottle so I will just dive in.
Color - Yellow Gold
Nose - Coal gas, sultana, Palate - Honey, citrus, ginger at first and the the peat hits - smoldering bon fire
Finish - Medium Long -Stone fruit, orange peel, and tar fades to citrus & diesel
Overall - 6 - This is pretty basic dram, citrus and peat. I would pass on a bottle but enjoying the sample.
