Review #192: Macallan 14 signatory

Speyside - 14 - NCF - NCA - $120 - 46%

Macallan, the girl who brought me to the dance.  I have not seen very many Macallan IBs so this is a bit of a rarity.

Color - Old Gold
Nose - Cake frosting, lemon, pears, peaches, vanilla
Palate - Caramel, oak, almonds, spice, over spiced apples, cigar box
Finish - Medium - Big spice, cloves, all spice, pepper, oak, sandlewood
Overall - 5.5 - The nose on this started out awesome.  The blend of sweet frosting with all that fruit was very enjoyable and balanced.  Then it just slips into spice and oak.  It is a fine dram but for the rare find of a Macallan IB along with the price, I just expect more.
