Review #152: Ballechin Discovery Series #7 The Bordeaux Casks
Color - Mahogony
Nose - Lush red fruit, strawberry smoothie, hints of smoke, peaches, sweetness
Palate - Berries, syrup, cherry
Finish - Medium - Peaches, honey, berry, light smoke, lavender
Overall - 6 - This is not my favorite peat and red wine combo I have had. At times this can skirt the line of coming across as household cleaner in taste. It is very light on the peat and the wine just drives the whole thing. As a result it is a one note red wine bomb without the peat to balance it out. It is potable but I wouldn't chose to drink this one again.
