Review #145: Kilchoman Sanaig
Islay - NAS- NCF- NCA - Sample ($80 at the local) - 46%
Sanaig is Kilchoman's sherry and bourbon expression that is a twist on Machir Bay.
Color - Deep Gold
Nose - Peat and Apricots, lapsang, white fruit hidden under peat
Palate - Malt and a bit of smoke - boring with thin and flabby mouthfeel
Finish - Medium - Cigar ash, sugar, earth
Overall - 5 -Wow, this was a disappointing show from Kilchoman, I expect better. The mouth feel was so flabby it felt like a 40% chill filtered Aberlour. It was boring front to back and nowhere near its price tag.
