Review #124: Springbank 13 Sherry Single Cask

Springbank Sherry 13 Singlecask
Cambeltown - 13 years old - NCF - NCA - Sample ($120 at the local) - 58.6%
Color - Burnished
Nose - Fig, apricot, nutmeg, berry, vanilla, a richness to this nose - frosting, all surrounded by some hard to place funk
Taste - Fruit cake, figs, nectarine, orange - mouth coating
Finish - Medium Long - Christmas pudding, orange zest, cloves and a touch of funk - leather, nuts , cork and lingering cola
Overall - 8 - This is a fantastic dram, probably the best sherry bomb I have ever had. The dram oozes flavor throughout. It is for sure a sherry bomb and not balanced but it executes on every point. The berry and frosting in the nose is just rich and lovely. The taste, mouthfeel and finish all bring the ruckus. Really solid. I would put this in my sherry bomb power rankings if it weren't a limited run.
