Review #102: Macallan Classic Cut 2017
Please tell me if I am missing any Cask Strength Sherry Bombs from my below Power Rankings. Readily available only please.
Macallan Classic Cut
Speyside - NAS - NCF - NCA - Sample ($100 at the local) - 58.4%
Color - Auburn
Nose - Rich custard, sponge cake, stewed raisins, cocoa, cinnamon
Taste - Apricots, nectarines, chocolate, spice
Finish - Medium - Stewed figs, fruit salad, sandalwood, spice, hints of vanilla
Overall - 6 - It is funny how wood heavy the nose is and then it goes away in the taste and finish. This is a nice CS sherry bomb, but frankly, they have all been so far. In typical Macallan fashion it is probably 20% over priced for what you get. It is a solid dram and probably a no brainier for Macallan fans. However, it fails to surpass others in the category for me.
