World Whisky Review #1: IB Cooley's Irish Whisky - Exclusive Malts 2003 Cask Strength Irish Whisky - Done Blind
Mystery
Color - Amber
Nose - Slightly sharp to start, honey, citrus, grapefruit, floral notes - geraniums, the grapefruit left and now it is lemon and key limes. There is something that I can't put my finger on and it is driving me nuts, maybe pine needles.
Taste - Oranges, some stewed oranges, my palate is overwhelmed by oranges. I get some floral notes but I can't pick them out.
Finish - Medium - More oranges, honey, tobacco
Overall - - This reminds me a lot of the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban that I just reviewed last week. It is very nice and enjoyable. Orange just dominates the taste and finish.
Characteristic Guess - Highland- 12 Years (NAS) - NCF - 46% ABV - Whisky guess - Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban
