Linkwood is a Diageo Johnny Walker feeder distillery. They have few OBs and it is almost elusively via IBs.

Speyside - 8 Year - NCF - NCA - Sample (Price at the local $65) - 62.12%

Color - Pale gold

Nose - Spiced pair, vanilla, cream, oak, hints of aniseed - This is a nice approachable nose.

Taste - Nice mouthfeel, Vanilla, toffee, cream, cigar box

Finish - Medium - New oak, toffee, vanilla, and spice

Overall - 6 - The nose of this sets up a classic ex-bourbon, approachable and balanced. The palate and finish is a little out of balance with too much wood that seems to overwhelms the other flavors. For the price, this dram delivers and is very potable.
