Review #292: Croftengea 2008 9 year The Whisky Exchange

 Highland- 9 - NCA  - NCF -  $120 if I had to guess - 54.8%

Croftengea is the peated line of Loch Lomond scotch whisky.  This distillery is the only distillery to distill both grain and malt.  This particular whisky is a single malt aged in an ex-bourbon cask.
Color - Chestnut
Nose - Big Lapsang notes, fresh lime juice, caramel apple, malt
Palate -  Tea, caramel, fade to pepper and citrus
Finish -Medium - Bonfire smoke, pepper and caramel
Overall - 6 -  This was better than I thought.  the peat was different and enjoyable.  This seems pretty simple, but it works.  The highland peat is different, it is one note but it a nice note.
