Review #274: Glenfarclas 15

Speyside - 15 - NCF - NCA - $70- 46%

Glenfarclas is a classic Speyside malt.  The 15 is unavailable stateside but it has a special feature.  They actually up the ABV to 46%.  Huzzah!
Color - Tawny
Nose - Dates, Christmas pudding, spice, more and more Christmas pudding.
Palate -  Chirstmas pudding, current, red fruit
Finish - Medium - Very dry, dates, chocolate, vanilla, cake bread, red fruit
Overall - 6  -   The nose smells like pure Christmas pudding.  Just bready and leaded with baking spices and dried fruit.  While not complex is wonderful to nose.  This is for sure a step up from the 12 year.  It is like a liquid Chirstmas pudding through and through. This to me really shows how under proofed Glenfarclas line is.  Just a little bump in ABV goes such a long way on flavor and mouthfeel.  If I lived where this was sold, I probably would keep a bottle on hand for guests.  But I dont', so I won't
