Review #275: Aberlour A'Bunadh Batch 60

Speyside - NAS - NCF - NCA - $80- 60.3%

Aberlour has a classic Sherry Bomb release called Aberlour A'Bunadh.  They have gone through 65+ batches so far.  I have several of them and they are usually very enjoyable.  It can be hard to compare without drinking them side by side but I will try my best.
Color - Tawny
Nose - Apricots, vanilla ice cream, generic dried fruit, rice pudding, raisins
Palate -  Apricots, dates, vanilla, simple syrup, new oak
Finish - Medium - Figs, apricots, new wood, chocolate.  Its a touch hot and has a touch of raw oak.
Overall - 7 - The nose on this one is a little off character with a lot of new wood popping over the muted sherry fruits.  The palate and finish on this batch are simple but for the most part tasty.  It drinks a lot hot and has a touch of raw oak but not enough to ruin the experience.  I would have not been disappointed to pick up a bottle of this batch but I would probably let the next batch be released before picking up another bottle.
