Review #259: Battlehill Highland Park 18

Highland - 18 - NCF - NCA - $130 - 53.4%

I don't have much information on this.  Battlehill is Total Wine's IB lineup.  It is pretty pale so I am assuming this is ex-bourbon.  Lets see how it is.

Color - Old Gold
Nose - Caramel, peanuts, citrus, oatmeal, vanilla, mango
Palate - Orchard fruit, peanuts
Finish - Medium - Raw oak, pepper, burnt caramel, stale peanuts
Overall - 5 - This is just disappointing to me.  The finish has not one, but two off notes with the raw oak and stale nuttiness making for one big long bitter note.  The bitter notes start to dissipate the more I drink it so it just leaves a boring sweet lemon taste.  Not a favorite for me.
