Review #250: Glen Ord 13, Cadenhead’s single cask (refill sherry), 60.3%
Glen Ord is the only distillery located on the Black Isle in the Highlands. Glen Ord is owned by everybody's favorite soulless conglomerate Diego. Glen Ord appears at the bare minimum ABV singleton series and is known to go into Johnny Walker blends. This bottle was part of the Authentic collection, meaning only sold in Cadenheads retail stores. This is a refill butt but from the color, I am going to guess 3rd refill plus.
Color - Pale Gold
Nose - Lemons, grapefruit, grass clippings, vanilla beans, jello
Palate - Lemon ice, cinnamon, pears, malt
Finish - Medium - Honey, grass, white grapes, malt, a touch of funk
Overall - 5.5 - I found this kind of boring but enjoyable. It is basic, fruit and grass, but more than potable. In general, this isn't my style. I don't see myself going to a Cadenhead any time soon, but if I do, I don't see me buying this.
