Review #249: Longrow 15 Single Sherry Cask
Campbeltown - 15- NCF - NCA - $90 - 51.4%
Longrow is one of three lines of scotch that Springbank produces. Longrow is their heavily peated line. I don't have a whole lot of info on this cask so on to the tasting.
Color - Tawny
Nose - Prunes, vanilla, christmas cakes, malt, saline, fabric softener
Palate - Raisins, baking spice, chocolate, stewed fruit, sticky toffee pudding
Finish - Long - Caramel, chocolate, pepper,
Overall - 6 - This is not what I expected. It is all sherry, no funk, no peat. It is pretty enjoyable, chocolaty, chewy. If I bought a bottle for peat and funk married with sherry, I would be pretty disappointed. I liked the dram, found it delicious, but probably would not pick up a bottle.
