Review #229: Royal Lochnagar House Baratheon Game of Thrones 12

Winter is coming!  At least it feels that way in Chicago.  In honor of tonight's premier, I am going to try a sample of House Baratheon Royal Lochnagar.  Royal Lochnagar is a small distillery owned by everybody's favorite soulless conglomerate Diageo.  Most of the juice they produce gets dumped into Black Label.  Lets see what it tastes like on its own.  

Color - Burnished

Nose - Fresh sliced golden delicious apples, lemon, honey, vanilla, toffee

Palate - Apples, lemons, oak

Finish - Short -  Fresh pears, toffee, citrus

Overall - 5  - The nose is fresh and fruity.  It reminds me of AnCnoc 12.  The rest of the dram is a classic light and fruity highland style.  There is nothing wrong with this dram but there is nothing right with it either.  It is potable, boring, and obscenely over priced.  With the sample, I don't even get to enjoy the marketing.  There are so many better options out there that even with the coolness of the tube, it is not worth getting.
