Bourbon/Rye #39: Whistle Pig 10 Year Old "K&L Swine Merchants" 119.8 Proof Barrel #2449 (MGP)

MGP - 13 Year - Rye- 95R5C - Sample - $90  - 59.9%

This is a K&L store pick that I got as part of a bottle split.  It is the MGP sourced is older than its age statement according to K&L and actually clocks in at 13 years.  MGP rye seems to start out as heavy dill young and evolve into vanilla as it ages.

Color - Caramel
Nose - Vanilla, rye spice, dill, citrus
Taste - Rye spice, dill, vanilla
Mouthfeel - Medium
Finish - Dill, vanilla, rye spice
Finish Length - Long
Overall - 5/7 - This is in line with expectations.  This one is spicier than the last single barrel I had and a little less in vanilla.  I don't feel the flavors or the profile are that different with these MGP sourced WP store picks.  I got two more from K&L so we will see.

Rating system is price influenced as it is based on my shopping decisions when buying a bottle.
