Review #207: Glengoyne Cadenhead's 2001 16 year 58.2%

Highland - 16 - NCF - NCA - $120 - 58.2%

This is Glengoyne first refill sherry butt release of 510 bottles.

Color - Chestnut
Nose - Mixed berries, corn syrup, frozen strawberries, whipped cream
Palate - Cherry, caramel, buttercream, chocolate, hints of citrus
Finish - Long - Chocolate, toffee, stewed fruit, lingering baking spice, sandlewood
Overall - 7 -  This was a very nice sherry bomb.  It was berries, chocolate, frosting and spice.  Everything that I could ask for.  It was not overly complex but it was damn delicious.  This also seems to capture that more caramelly Glengoyne profile.  A nice IB and a solid dram.
