Review #205 : Single Malts of Scotland Benrinnes 20

Speyside - 20 - NCF - NCA - $100 - 51.1

This is an IB of Benrinnes with the very informative label as coming from a hogshead.  I am assuming that is sherry from the nose.  I am also assuming it is 3rd refill based on the light color for 20 years.

Color - Deep Gold
Nose - Golden raisins, sulpher, sea salt, orange zest, florist shop
Palate - Caramel, orange, honey, wet cardboard, Kilchoman smoke,
Finish - Long - Candied raisins, egg whites, sulpher, lemons, simple syrup
Overall - 8 - Wow, what a roller coaster.  I half am sitting here thinking what the fuck did I just drink.  There is just a ton of sulfur here, if you don't like sulfur, stay the f away.  It tasted peated it was so funky.  It has a lot going on, way more than I was able to capture in my mediocre review.  It really is a wild ride with flavors coming and going.
