Review #203: Glendronach 15 Revival 2018 edition

Highland - 15- NCF - NCA - $90 - 46%

Glendronach discontinued their 15 year back in 2015.  Since then, the 15 year has gone for silly prices on the secondary market.  In 2018, Glendronach brought back their 15 year.  Lets see if this juice is worth the hype

Color - Tawny
Nose - Dried fruit - figs, stewed plums, vanilla, floral, stone fruit, caramel
Palate - Generic sherried fruit, peaches, caramel, porridge - oily coating mouthfeel
Finish - Medium - Biscuits, raisins, oily finish, pepper - little bit of heat
Overall - 6 - So I get the appeal on this.  It is super oily in the mouthfeel and the finish. The nose was really nice but I feel that the complexity didn't carry over to the palate.  However, I don't think that is the cult like appeal this has.  This dram is all about the feel.  It is so oily for being only 46% that is coats and coats the palate.  It is a little more cereally than I would prefer for an older sherried malt than I would prefer.  This does go to straight to list of malts to buy as a gift at $100 budget.
