World Whiskey #4: Paul John Classic Select Cask

This is batch 1 of Classic Select Cask, an Indian single malt.  It is distilled in Goa released with no age statement.

Color - Burnished

Nose - Marshmallow, vanilla, fruit - orange zest and lemon juice, caramel - with water, just the citrus and vanilla

Palate - Citrus, wood, caramel, wood - with water flavor changes to caramel and biscuits 

Finish - Long -  A bit hot - Spices, cigar box, more wood  - Spices and milder raw wood

Overall - 4.5 -   I was not at all impressed with this.  There is just raw wood all over this. Not complex and not really too enjoyable.  I am shocked that they would sell this at such a high height and I understand why they all went on clearance at my local big box.  Not at all a fan.
