Review #182: Glentauchers Gordon & Macphail SiB cask #649 11y (Loch and K(e)y pick)
Speyside - 11 - NCF - NCA - Sample would guess $60 - 46%
Glentauchers is a workhorse malt for blends in the Pernod Ricard family. It is rumored to be a key component of the Ballantine and Teacher's blends. I don't have much on this dram so lets see how it drinks.
Color - Amber

Color - Amber
Nose - Candied figs, raisins, vanilla, Nutmeg, sugar in the raw
Palate - caramel, spice, generic sweetness
Finish - medium - Baking spices, honey, touch of word and apple
Overall - 5 - This comes across as a blender workhorse. It is portable but nothing I would choose on my own. The sort of generic profile probably really lends itself to blending.
