Review #158: SMWS 85.42 "Put Your Feet Up" Glen Elgin 16 yr old, 57.9%
Color - Deep copper
Nose - Sweet aged balsamic vinegar, raisins, vanilla ice cream, lemon, the sulfuric floral notes
Palate - Cherries, apricots, oak - and maybe steak fat
Finish - Medium - Red fruit, raspberries, lemons, honey, hint of turnips
Overall - 6 - This isn't bad at all. Surprising amount of red fruit in here, borderline wine finished. It is sherried but has all the red fruit running through it. There is also some of those meaty notes through out. This to me is a nice academic whisky to sample but probably wouldn't pick up my own bottle.
