Bourbon/Rye Review #16: Russell's Reserve 10
Wild Turkey - 10 - Bourbon - 75C13R12M - Sample ($35) - 45%
Color - Deep Caramel
Nose - A bit of funk, toffee, vanilla, cellar, spice
Taste - Vanilla, Toffee, allspice, cinnamon
Mouthfeel - Medium
Finish - Caramel, allspice, cinnamon
Finish Length - Medium
Overall - 4/7 - This isn't bad at all. While I am not a big cinnamon whiskey fan, this brings it without being over powering. The nose for sure has a funk to it I am not used to from american whiskey. I wonder if they are capturing some feints in this. A nice whisky for the price but probably wouldn't pick up a bottle.
Rating system is price influenced as it is based on my shopping decisions when buying a bottle.
