Review #125: Longrow 15 Chardonnay
Longrow 15 Chardonnay
Cambeltown - 15 years old - NCF - NCA - Sample ($150 at the local) - 55.6%
This spend 9 years in ex-bourbon and 6 in ex-Chardonnay.
Color - Deep Copper
Nose - Grapefruit, tart apples, vanilla, honey, air freshener, marshmallow, cat pee sharpness (not astringent)
Taste - White fruit, toffee, spotted dick with treacle
Finish - Medium - Tart apples, toffee, spice, a touch of funk, green grapes
Overall - 5.5 - This is a dram I needed to spend more time with. It had a lot going on but I didn't have enough to pick it all out. It was a very tart scotch, so if that is your thing, I would give this a shot. Having said that, I don't think that it was enjoyable enough to be worth its price.
Rating system is price influenced as it is based on my shopping decisions when buying a bottle.
