Review #108: Tamdhu Batch Strength 003

Tamdhu Batch Strength 003
Review 108
Speyside - NAS - NCF - NCA - $90 - 58.3%
Color - Amber - much lighter than batch 1. I wonder if this means much younger.
Nose - Cried apricots, Pepsi, vanilla, orange compote - water kills the cola and ups the vanilla
Taste - Oranges, cloves, cola - water brings bigger fruit but kills the cola
Finish - Medium - Bit of heat, stewed oranges, cloves, - water takes off the heat, adds more spice and mellows the oranges
Overall - 5.5 - I think they really dropped the age on this batch. I was a little shocked at the heat that was on the finish. The nose was great and carried over from the 1st batch. However the berry notes aren't present and the result is hotter and less complex. If I wanted to buy more, I would nose around for batch 1 or give batch 2 a try, three is just a little young for the price asked.
