Review #106: Ardmore 15 SMWS 66.97
Ardmore 15 SMWS 66.97 "Power of the pause"
Highland - 15- NCF - NCA - Sample ($150 if I had to guess) - 58.4%
Ardmore is mainly used as the filler for Teacher's Highland Cream. It is a peated Highland malt that really amazed me the last time i tried it.
Color - Pale gold - light for its age.
Nose - Rich honey and vanilla, banana peel, custard and uncaramelized creme brule, starbusts tropical flavors and the slightest puff of smoke
Taste - Honey and vanilla, banana, smoke, ginger, pepper,
Finish - Long - Smoke, honey, vanilla, banana, key lime pie
Overall - 8.5 - Honey and vanilla follow this dram from beginning to end. The nose is incredibly rich, with complexity and balance that make it really lovely. The honey, vanilla, smoke, fruit and spice are in great balance on the palate. The finish is long, lingering and balanced. This is a fantastic dram that beings a vision from nose to finish with complexity and balance. Worth seeking out if still available. I am now keen to get my hands on as much Ardmore as I can.
Rating system is price influenced as it is based on my shopping decisions when buying a bottle.
