Review #107: Kilchoman Machir Bay 4 yr old 2013

Kilchoman Machir Bay 2013
Machir Bay is always a pleasant dram. I have had the 2016 but I don't think I have had other vintages.
Islay - 4 - NCF - No Color Added - $60 at the local - 46%
Color - Yellow Gold
Nose - Pears, key lime, vanilla, very subtle musty smoke
Taste - Pretty flat - Honey, fruit, some wood, rubber
Finish - - Smoldering rubber, lemon zest,
Overall - 5.5 - This was a little different than I expected. The nose matches up to my notes last time but the palate just seems to come across flat. The flavors are hard to pick out and just blend together, but not in a cool balanced way. I am not sure if this is the difference in vintage or possible oxidization with age.

Rating system is price influenced as it is based on my shopping decisions when buying a bottle.
