Bourbon/Rye review #8: Four Roses PS OBSK, 57.1%, 9yrs 3mos (Ace Spirits)

Four Roses - 9 years - Bourbon - 60C/35R/5M - Sample ($70)  - 57.1%

Color - Russet
Nose - Corn, spice vanilla caramel dill smokiness might be white fruit but having trouble picking out, burnt sugar
Taste - Toffee vanilla rye spice
Mouthfeel - Medium
Finish - Rye spice, vanilla, nuttiness, corn caramel
Finish Length - Medium
Overall - 4/7 - I really enjoyed this dram but it does seem that the rye overtakes the bourbon a bit.  As a fan of rye, I don't mind this, but would prefer a bit more marrying of the underliers in this dram.  There seemed some subtleties that were just drowned out by the rye heavy mashbill.

Rating system is price influenced as it is based on my shopping decisions when buying a bottle.
