Bourbon/Rye Review #7: Old Grand-Dad 114

Jim Beam - NAS - Bourbon - 63C/27R/10M - Sample ($26)  - 57%

Color - Deep caramel
Nose - Corn, vanilla, caramel, dill, brown sugar
Taste - Red hots and sugar
Mouthfeel - Medium
Finish - Corn, dill, vanilla, cinnamon
Finish Length - Medium short
Overall - 3.5/7 - This reminded me very much of Jura Superstition with the red hot cinnamon notes.  This is interesting because the rye notes are heavy enough to take over the whisky but not enough to make it taste like rye.  It is an interesting whisky, enjoyable, it is spice bomb but not really my style.

Rating system is price influenced as it is based on my shopping decisions when buying a bottle.
