Review #60 - Battlefield Laphroaig 10

Green Mystery
This is the second mystery sample I have ever done. The first I didn't publish as it was in the wild and not Scotch. I guessed High West Campfire on Jack Daniels Barrel Proof so clearly I am skilled at guessing. I thought embarrassing myself with a mystery would be great for review number 60.

Color - Yellow Corn
Nose - I am getting peat, I can smell that as soon as a poured. More on the medicinal side, maybe antiseptic, granny smith apples, honey, sea air.
Taste - Picking up some of the wood, vanilla, malted barley, fruit, a touch of citrus
Finish - Medium Short - Cigar ash with creme brulee sugar.
Overall - - The nose has my thinking Laphroaig but the finish has me thinking more Ardbeg or Kilchoman. . It is enjoyable, fruity, and big. The palate is a little bland and the finish is one note. However, it is a very pleasant 1 note. This is a nice every day sort of peated dram.
Guess - Islay - 8 Years (NAS) - NCF - 43% ABV - Ardbeg 10

Post Reveal
Battlehill Laphroaig 10 - This was pretty solid the nose was all laphroaig but I didn't go with my gut. It had less of a medicinal finish than the normal frog 10, it was more extinguished cigar. Very enjoyable, it I saw it at my local I would pick it up. 7 Overall
Islay - A10 - NCF - Sample ($58 at the total wine) - 46%
Overall rating - 7

Rating system is price influenced as it is based on my shopping decisions when buying a bottle.
